Practice makes progress.
Building the services behind AI-powered roleplay in virtual reality.
01 / Context
The problem
AI-driven roleplay in VR needs backend services that connect the application, scenario content and supporting infrastructure. External documents also needed to become part of the roleplay experience.
02 / Responsibility
My contribution
I developed Python and Django REST APIs with VR developers, integrated document ingestion into roleplay scenarios, and worked on AWS infrastructure and SQL databases.
03 / Approach
The decisions
I worked with VR developers to integrate Python and Django REST APIs, alongside file ingestion and processing for external documents. The work crossed the API boundary into JavaScript, HTML and CSS features, as well as AWS infrastructure and SQL optimisation.
- 01
Ingest
Bring external documents into scenario content.
- 02
Connect
Integrate Django APIs with VR developers.
- 03
Support
Manage AWS infrastructure and optimise SQL databases.
04 / Result
The outcome
Delivered backend APIs powering AI-driven roleplay and document ingestion for scenarios, with supporting frontend and infrastructure work during my Junior Software Engineer role.
05 / Sources & context
The CV documents the scope and technologies. It does not provide a public latency, usage or learning-outcome measure, so no numerical improvement is claimed here.
